Dianne Reeves on Fleetwood Mac's Dreams with Robert Glasper

DREAMS WITH ROBERT GLASPER [:59]

NOW, A JAZZ MOMENT

BEFORE THEY MET IN REAL LIFE, MUSICIAN ROBERT GLASPER CONTACTED DIANNE REEVES WITH A SURPRISING REQUEST—TO COVER “DREAMS” BY FLEETWOOD MAC.

Dianne Reeves: I actually met him on Twitter, and he kept saying, “I have this thing that I think you would really be able to do.” And he sent this demo of him singing it.

And I was like, “Dreams?” like, “players-only-love-you-when-they’re-playing “Dreams?” And he’s like, “Yeah,” and I’m like how does he know this song?

Dreams up

But he’s singing it, and you know, I thought that is the way I would want to hear that song for me to do.

THIS JAZZ MOMENT WITH VOCALIST DIANNE REEVES WAS PRODUCED BY THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS.
