The vibrancy of American artistry has grown from the contributions of a rich range of artists with Latin American roots. Oftentimes, the amazing and deeply meaningful contributions of Latino/x artists have transcended barriers of language and genre, inviting others in to experience new perspectives with which to understand the world.

Across its programs and initiatives, the NEA is proud to support the work of exemplary Latino/x artists and organizations. Coast to coast and through the heart of the country, recent NEA grant funds and American Rescue Plan (ARP) relief aid has helped organizations connect communities to Latino/x cultural practices and artforms.

Throughout this month, the NEA proudly recognizes that Hispanic Heritage is American Heritage and celebrates the diverse traditions and creative expressions that continue to add to the vitality of the American cultural tapestry.

I encourage you to join us at arts.gov and our social media channels as the NEA highlights National Hispanic Heritage Month.
