What We Do

The National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency that provide Federal financial assistance, is responsible for the administration, compliance, and enforcement of the nondiscrimination laws and regulations that covers programs and activities receiving assistance.  The laws and regulations are as follows:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973(link is external)

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990(link is external)

An individual may file a complaint with the NEA if they believe that they have been discriminated against based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability or age by an organization that is a recipient of NEA funding. Individuals may file a formal complaint with OCREEO.
