NEA Jazz Master Marian McPartland was a big fan of clarinet and sax player, Sidney Bechet.

Marian McPartland: Hearing Sidney Bechet playing Shake It and Break It. That was the name of the tune. It was like a sort of a blues oriented thing, it had that sort of rough, barrelhouse sound but I liked those, I thought it was terrific.
