Cheyenne Arts Council (aka Arts Cheyenne)
The NEA grant will support the asset mapping and development of a cultural district plan for Cheyenne. In partnership with the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority/Main Street, Arts Cheyenne will determine the cultural resources of the community through asset mapping, and conduct a broad-based communitywide opinion survey about the arts. A series of focus group discussions about the district will merge the asset mapping and opinion data with conversation and stories from community stakeholders. In addition to the creation of the Cheyenne Cultural Plan, an active database of performance and other creative space venues will be developed to serve as a community and artistic resource. Additional partners include the Mayor's Office Special Projects Division, Visit Cheyenne, Cheyenne LEADS, and the Cheyenne-Laramie Economic Development Joint Powers Board. Cheyenne is Wyoming's capital city, with a population of 61,000.
