Hennepin Theatre Trust
Owner of four historic theaters in Minneapolis, the Hennepin Theatre Trust (HTT) is dedicated to developing the city's arts and culture. HTT offers live performances and arts education programs, and is a major force behind the renewal of Hennepin Avenue as a cultural corridor. More than 400,000 people attend events at HTT's theaters annually, and more than 360,000 vehicles travel on Hennepin Avenue each month.
To help HTT achieve its revitalization efforts for Hennepin Avenue, the Arts Endowment will support a planning process for the thoroughfare. The project will engage neighborhood groups, arts organizations, institutions, and the business community to develop a plan for Hennepin Avenue. The plan will map cultural assets, connect multiple institutions, propose arts uses for underdeveloped spaces, and foster economic vitality in support of Minneapolis's Downtown 2025 Plan. Partners on this project include Hennepin Theatre Trust, Artspace Projects, Inc., Walker Art Center, and City of Minneapolis Department of Community Planning and Economic Development.
