Research: Art Works Grants Final Papers

Since FY12, the NEA's Office of Research & Analysis has made annual awards under the Research: Art Works grant program to support research that investigates the value and/or impact of the arts, either as individual components within the U.S. arts ecology or as they interact with each other and/or with other domains of American life. By providing financial support to deserving projects, the NEA anticipated that this program will spur growth in the number of people experienced in and knowledgeable about arts-related research in the U.S.

All grantees who are awarded an NEA Research: Art Works grant are required to author at least one final paper that would be shared with the public*, and we also ask our grantees to update us about other publications and presentations that are related to their grant. Here we provide access to working papers, publications, and presentations that so far have resulted from NEA Research: Art Works grant funding.

*The opinions expressed in these papers are those of the author(s) and do not represent the views of the Office of Research & Analysis or the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the information included in these reports and is not responsible for any consequence of its use.  Please keep in mind that the guidelines and reporting requirements for the Research: Art Works grant program may vary from year to year.
