Art Works Podcast: Josh Ritter
In this week's podcast, we meet an indie favorite: singer, songwriter, and now author, Josh Ritter. He is the balladeer of the 21st century, creating intricately constructed folk songs with a modern sensibility. Because he is a musical storyteller with songs that sing like short stories, it was, perhaps, only a question of time before Ritter would turn his talents to fiction. People who follow Ritter's music won't be surprised to find that the angels that haunt his ballads also play a prominent role in his novel, Bright's Passage. The book is a story about memory, luck, and the internal war that service members often carry home with them. And of course, it's written with the lyricism we've come to expect from Ritter.
