January 9, 2010
New York, NY

On Tuesday, January 12th, the new class of NEA Jazz Masters Fellows will be honored at the awards ceremony & concert in the Rose Theater at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center. The NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship is the nation's highest award in jazz - since 1982, 110 jazz artists and advocates have been so honored. A wealth of information on all of the new and previous NEA Jazz Masters is available on our website.

Throughout the rest of the month we will give special emphasis to the Jazz Masters here and on the website, including new "Jazz Moments" audio spots, tribute videos, extended interviews, articles, and analysis. Please visit regularly for updates.

The Arts Presenters conference is placing a special emphasis on jazz this year, with sessions scheduled throughout the conference. In fact, the "Jazz in the 21st Century ? Expanding America?s Legacy" professional development session is underway right now and can be followed on Twitter at #APAP2010.
