The tri-annual public meeting of the National Council on the Arts took place on March 28, 2014. In addition to the review of upcoming funding guidelines, voting on grant recommendations, and agency updates, the meeting included presentations by two recent NEA grantees: Grand Canyon Chamber Music Festival highlighted their Native American Composer Apprenticeship Project and Second Stage Theatre discussed their recent production of playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes' The Happiest Song Plays Last.
